Are Soft Shackles any good?

G'day.

I'm keen to invest into some new recovery gear (did a garage sale recently and now got the coin and the space for some new stuff). So I've seen those soft shackles that someone posted on facebook and I was wondering if some of you have used them? They seem to be just a short dyneema rope tied together but they are super strong and don't look as dangerous as a steal D shackle. I am just wondering how often they can be used? One time, two times, three times? Any circumstances where you wouldn't use them?
